Bike N Hike
My brother and I have frequently ridden the B-V trail but never explored the dirt paths. One day, I ventured alone onto the dirt trail and encountered a 'trail closed' sign at a bridge. I parked my bike and walked a bit, thinking my brother would enjoy this. At home, I showed him some photos. By Sunday, the trail was open, and we set out. It felt more like a hike than a ride, which was fine since I'd wanted to hike anyway. My brother, the more adventurous one, was soon 200 feet ahead. When I caught up, he was discussing the challenging terrain with someone. We reached a 'trail closed' sign, warning of a fallen tree, but we pressed on, climbing over it. Further along, we navigated washed-out sections, likely related to the closure. A charming log bridge crossed a stream, adding to the adventure. As dusk approached, we wondered about the trail's end. Finally, encountering others, we realized we were nearing the conclusion. The path transitioned back to a bike trail, and following the signs, we emerged onto a paved road in the Stub Stewart mountain biking area. Aware of the area's day-use fee, we decided not to linger and quickly departed.
