Riding the Banks To Vernonia Trail And Checking Out Some Dirt Trails

I found a nice trail that has a short bridge but it was closed. I am guessing for trail repairs, I will come back to this dirt trail again on another ride to see what is beyond the bridge. I found another trail so I checked it out. I think the trail leads to the hilltop area, there is a day use fee for hilltop so I turned around and continued onto the main trail heading to Vernonia. I rode down the switchbacks a little faster this time, got to the bottom headed across highway 47 changed to the easier gears for the steep inclines going up the other switchbacks. After the switchbacks the trail goes downhill slightly which makes for a fun stretch of the trail. I got to Vernonia lake “the end of the trail” ate some lunch rested for a bit and went back home. Going back down the trail, you get to a point where you feel yourself go faster and you can coast for a while. Banks bicycles have ice cream and I knew they closed at 7:00PM, it was 6:30 and I hurried on the last stretch of the trail made it there at 6:50, they are closed. I rested for a bit at the banks trailhead and then went home. On the way home I was riding down Wren road and saw my brother on Laisy road waiting for me. He had premade Gatorade in zip lock bags that stuff helps! Anyway it was a nice ride. Accept for my butt!
